To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom. Verse 12
When
we come into relationship with the Lord, a huge
change happens in the
spiritual realm and within us. Digging into the Scriptures we begin to
understand more of the glorious majesty of His kingdom and our place in
it.
In fact, I just
spent all of 2011 studying and posting weekly about what it means to be a
Citizen of the Kingdom and Reigning in Christ.
Off the top of my
head though, here are some scriptures that help us see how critical it
is to understand the kingdom, to declare His might to others so that all
may enjoy his glorious eternal kingdom forever.
First,
we have heard John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he sent his
only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal
life."
The sacrifice
of Jesus’ life as a ransom to set us all free from our sin is the
central focus of Christianity. Without His sacrifice, we will never
have heaven. We would never have the blessing of God, because our
sinful nature, even a teeny bit selfish or rebellious, keeps us out of
relationship with Perfect Holy God. We can never earn His favor and or
forgiveness.
But,
because God so loved His creation, Jesus, the Perfect Sacrificial Lamb
of God, was provided to pay the price and take the punishment we
deserve. Their is a serious cost to sin.
The
angels rejoice when one sinner repents and accepts Christ’s free gift
of forgiveness which He attained for us on the cross. Remember the
parable Jesus told? When the shepherd has lost one sheep, he will leave
the 99 and go search until he finds the one which was lost! There are
other parables about laying aside everything in order to search for and
find the ONE thing that matters…..the treasure, which is Christ!
The
place of eternal “lost-ness” is Hell. God is doing everything possible
to engage us so we will choose Him and choose Heaven. Are we
listening?
I pray,
friends, that we rejoice to overflowing and praise Mighty God for the
simple formula: recognize we are imperfect people called sinners,
repent of our sin and turn away from repeating it, accept Jesus as your
Savior, then make Jesus Lord in your life to teach you more of His
kingdom. Love Him and obey Him and be blessed to super abundance.
God,
Our Father, You are Perfect and have made the perfect plan of salvation
available so that not one should be lost. It MUST BE so important, or
you would never have required that we go forth and spread the Good
News.
We celebrate
the Good News that a relationship with Jesus saves us from eternal
death, and because He has risen, we rise again to new life, to become a
new creation here on Earth, and are destined to reign with Him forever
in Heaven. Praise be to You, O Lord of Love. Amen.
